How it works
From problem tree to plan in three steps
1. Send a request
Name, phone, town and a line about the tree. That is all we need.
2. We hand it on
Your request goes to an independent tree provider near Oswego, who can arrange a visit.
3. Approve the quote
Compare scope, check insurance, then decide. No obligation from us.
Storm just hit Oswego?
Treat every downed line as live: 911 or ComEd 1-800-334-7661. Parkway tree down? Village Public Works, 630-554-3242. Boulder Hill: Oswego Township, 630-264-4587. Your own tree: request a crew.
Tree by the curb?
The Village of Oswego owns the parkway trees, the ones between the curb and the sidewalk. Its arborists inspect them, and the Village removes them at no charge. Call Public Works at 630-554-3242 (Village of Oswego).
Tree in your yard?
That one's yours. The Village says its crews don't trim or remove privately owned trees; that's done at the owner's expense (same page). That's where a private crew comes in.

The storm that crossed the river
On Aug. 11, 2026 the National Weather Service confirmed an EF-0 tornado, peak winds near 75 mph, that started near US 34 northwest of town, crossed the Fox River and caused intermittent tree damage through subdivisions near Grove Road before lifting near Douglas Road south of Collins Road (NWS Chicago). A year earlier, on July 16, 2025, storm reports included a 15-inch branch snapped in Oswego and trees blocking a road (NWS). Want the full rundown? See storm cleanup.
Good to know before work starts
- Trees on the parkway belong to the Village. Don't cut, remove or have a crew touch one; call Public Works at 630-554-3242 instead (Village of Oswego).
- We found no Village permit for removing an ordinary tree in your own yard. Building & Zoning (630-554-2310) can confirm for your lot.
- Removing mature trees as part of a development plan triggers replacement rules: a 20-to-30-inch tree means five new trees (UDO §11.02).
- Call 811 before stumps are ground, and ComEd (1-800-334-7661) if limbs touch your house wire (ComEd).
Before you hire
The crew checklist
We don't vouch for anyone. These are the things worth checking with any tree company.
- Certificate of insurance, current, ideally sent by the insurer
- Name and contact on any Village permit (permits page)
- Written scope: stump, chips, logs, cleanup
- 811 locates before grinding
- No topping, no spikes on keeper trees
- Haul-away plan (brush pick-up won't take whole trees)
